Flynn remembers everything he reads, and he's read... well, everything, pretty much.
But none of that really prepared him for working at the Library, where it turns out, much of what is shelved under 'fiction' is apparently mislabeled.
By the age of thirty-one, he'd earned twenty-two academic degrees (12 Bachelors, 6 Masters, 4 Ph.D.s) in just about every subject and language one could imagine.
He would've been content to stay in school forever, but those plans were shattered when his current professor kicked him out of college on the condition that he needed to get some 'real-world experience'. Upon applying to work at a library in New York, he was unexpectedly hired and initiated into a secret and ancient order of librarians whose task is to protect a range of historical and occasionally magical items.
His bookish quality is often accompanied by a razor-sharp wit, and months of training with the sword Excalibur (yes, you read that right) have given him decent fighting expertise. He hates being corrected, and his awkwardness, as well as his constant traveling and battling evil, oftentimes makes it difficult for him to meet women. Therefore, much to his dismay, his mother is constantly trying to set him up on dates.
OOC Note 1: If your character is from a book, Flynn's read it. If your character is from a movie based on a book, he's read the book. If your character is from a movie that has a novel adaptation, he's read the adaptation. If your character is from a television show with novel tie-ins? Yep, he's read those too. He has enough class not to mention anything about it aloud, but a certain amount of meta knowledge may leak through in narrative. If your pup has already been canon-punctured and doesn't have a problem with him mentioning it... well, he might proceed to geek out extensively. I, however, have not read everything, and may lean on Wikipedia if there are details that he would know that I don't.
OOC Note 2: Flynn's world is one big meta crossover world. Lots of things that are considered fictional aren't necessarily so (i.e. the Holy Grail, Pandora's Box, the Ark of the Covenant), and the Library has the artifacts to prove it. If there's a mention of something from your character's canon that might be in the Library somewhere, though, it does not mean that the canons are necessarily merged, and I as the mun am not implying such by making the statement. It merely means there is a version of that story that is true in his world or that the story he's read was inspired by a different set of actual events.
Flynn Carsen is from thetwo three Librarian movies, and is the property of TNT. He appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in , from which no profit whatsoever is being made.
